I have had my Eibach Pro kit springs on my 98 max for 2 months now & everytime I make a moderate turns I hear a thudding noise especially from left front of car, i still have stock 16" wheels & struts (i know you are not supposed to have stock struts w/ lowering spring), i cant think of what could be causing it, has anyone had this same problem with lowering springs?

Hey,
I am thinking about getting the H&R Sport Spring set for my 99 max, do you think that I can run into the same problem, if I keep the same stock struts and shocks. I know of people who haven't had any problem, and when I talked to a rep at the Tire Rack, he said that it shouldn't be a problem. On think that you might to check is the actual shock... it could be bad. Also my buddy suggesed that you check your bushings, they could be bad? Hope that helps, and I hope you can help me out! Thanks

I got a chance to put my car up on the lift at work & take a look at it, there is a stud that stops the steering wheel from burning up the power steering pump when you fully turn, its located underneath the tie rod end, just crack loose the locking nut (19mm) and turn the end with a 17mm about half inch(not to much or you will burn your P.S. pump when you do U-turns), the reason it was making that noise is since the end of the stud has a rubber end and the car being lowered it changed the position when it would touch the subframe, thus making te rubbing noise during turns.

Don't put sport springs on your OEM struts. It doesnt ride right. I did it, learned my lesson the hard way. The force sport springs put out can't be controlled properly with OEM struts. Get some aftermarket bangers like KYB's or Tokico's. I hear that Tokico now has an adjustable out for our cars.

the thudding would be coming from your shocks.
you need some good aftermarket ones.
also Sprint springs are better and cheaper.

So I guess I should go for the whole shabang. How much would that run me?

I've seen the Sprints go for $120, and
the AGXs for $370.
all 4
$500 and the maxima will handle awesome, like you would never imagine it could and look tight with the drop.
