I ahve a GA GT 01 and the rear speakers are burn out. I want to replace them but I don't know how to get the old ones off. I got some speakers from another GA but this seems complicated. Can you give me some clues? Thanks

im pretty sure the top covers come off & they remove from the top.... in a 96 & older they went in thru the trunk... should just be 4 screws & a plug for each speaker

I tried to take the top off but I think it has a click, something that I don;t know about. I can't do it from the trunk. I got the other speakers from a junkyard so I know because I had to take them out off that car, but I still couldn't figure it out how to take them out with out distroing the top.

K, this isn't as current as your ride year, but scroll it, may may help ya visualize how to access the rear speakers.

the 96 and older, supafly, still come out threw the top and not the trunk. I know that because i replaiced them with sony xplode 6X9 and it was a pain to do. i think it still might be the same but im not totaly sure.

For your 01, you will need to remove the top shelf, but before you can do that, you will need to remove the two side covers that run up above the back seat windows. After they are off, you can remove the soft carpeted cover by pulling up hard, and that will expose the speakers. You can release the speakers by laying in the trunk and pushing on and releasing the clips holding them in - they will then be able to be pushed up and taken out through the inside of the car.
