smog/head question

hey guys i feel kinda foolish asking this but i hear it brought up all the time and i still dont know what it is. alot of people say they remove their smog equipment on their cars. what does that consist of? what are the advantages? im assuming its not emisions legal. the reason i ask mainly is because i am decideing between trickflow twisted wedge heads and trickflow trackheat heads. im not sure on all the differences yet, still doing homework, but iv been told they are very similar although the trackheats have no smog hook up stuff or whatever it is it has to do with not haveing something needed to put your smog stuff back on. hopefully that made sence to one of you. sry for my being so vauge but i really dont know what im talking about so im trying my best to get the point across. thanks abunch guys.

With your GT it is an almost free thing if you already are catless or run hiflow cats (most don't need the air tube). It will simply cost you about 40 bucks for a short belt (905K6 if stock pulleys, usually a 895K6 underdrive)

You will have to remove the head crossover tube, cut off the fittings, and re-install the fittings backwards to block off the ports in the heads.

Primarily it cleans up the engine bay and drops a few pounds from the car. HP gains are minimal.
