Yup, maybe a 1st gen would be better.

to swap a 454 bigblock in is going to be a pain in the butt. its been done, but it requires alot of fabrication and custom work. A better idea would be a 454 small block that could be bolted in with parts from a V8 equipped doner car. However with that much power youll have to beef up the chassis, suspension, and drivetrain. As far as the chassis, i recomend no less than welded in subframe connectors, strut tower brace, and a six point roll cage. drivetrain mods will need a stronger transmission and a beefed up rear end. such as a 12 bolt, or 9 bolt from GM or a ford 9 inch. also a gm 8.5in 10 bolt might hold up. but you should talk to Hypsi87 about that.
