EGR EVP Sensor

Just had the service engine soon light come on on my 2002 explorer. Took it to checkers and they ran a OBD-II scan and found out it was the EGR Sensor. Saved me a $100 by going there instead of the dealership. Question is has anyone ever changed this thing and is it hard? Thanks!!

Check with your local Ford dealer. There was a recall last year for the EGR Sensor Switch on the EGR Tube. You can ask and they'll look it up on computer. If you don't qualify it's a 15 min. job. It's a switch mounted on top of EGR tube. It has a electrical connector on the end of it. Post your results.

Didn't have a recall but it was about a five minute job to replace it. The part was about 40 bucks.
