Light Control switch

I'm hoping this is a simple, stupid problem...
We just bought an 89 suburban, and after removing the instrument panel, and installing a CD changer, and putting it back together, my 2nd position light control (controls the instrument panel lights, parking and tail lights, and marker lights) isn't lighting! My first thought is a fuse, and I've checked several that would be most likely associated with this control. My next step (after posting here for input) is to replace those fuses, even though they look good.
Help?
