Seat Power

1993 Taurus with power driver's seat. I was able to determine where the connection is for the power front seat. I checked the fuses and they were OK. Where does the power come from for the power seats? The wire goes under the carpet, but where does it come from. Is there a fusable link and where is it located. The Chilton manual doesn't identify the power seat circuit. I need a good schematic or to hear from someone who's been there.

Thanks,
Dick

Your local public library may be a good source for the wiring diagram. Some libraries suscribe to databases that can be accessed online. A library card number is usually all that is required.
You checked the fuse, did you see if there was power going through the fuse? Is there power going to the switches that control the seat? Are the motors controlling the seat good? If there is power at the fuse and none at the plug, you're going to have to pull the carpet and physically check the wiring.

Thanks for the reply. After locating a schematic online, it turns out that there is another fuse block in the engine compartment that has all the big fuses (40A and above). The Chilton manual doesn't even mention this block. I checked that fuse block and found a 40 amp fuse that was blown and replaced it and all works now, except the seat belt light still stays on. I've been told it is grounding problem. Thanks again.
