2000 GP HU Upgrade

Is there any good replacement for the stock GP HU that has a red light theme, and allow me to keep my steering wheel controls? (I know that I can buy a kit that works for most aftermarket HU's that allows me to still use the steering wheel controls. )

Sony Xplode series. I have one. I dont particularly like Sony but the color matched and the steering controls work.

Have you thought about just buying the kit to add an amp and speakers to your factory unit? That's what I did. You have to wire in a special box that has the RCA jacks in it, but it's not that difficult. A friend of mine installed it for me, and I've had no problems with it. The Delco pushes pretty good for a factory radio. I've got 2 Jensen 10's and a 600 watt amp, and it has rattled my teeth on occasion.

Well I've already got a 12 inch sub and a 550 watt amp, so when it comes to bass, I'm all set. I just want to get an HU that will give me a sharper sound with my stock speakers.

I don't know that Sony is the way to go for that...a few friends have had them and weren't real happy with them. Try crutchfield.com, they have several brands that have changeable displays that you can set to any color you want.
