I just bought a Honda civic dx 1990 hatchback not running cranks but rattles when attempting to start, guy said it was a bad valve, moldy but good interior, all electrical work and no dents at all, back 3 years on registration but key works for everything, legitimate paperwork all for $100.00 did I get ripped if not where should I start to start duking it out any one got package prices for multiple accessories. Nother thing the guy cut the wires to get the stereo so I have to figure a way to fix that somehow, any advice.

$100 for a dx isn't bad. Swap the engine, wire to mpfi, get a stereo, drop it a little and you got a start... and avoid all rice as much as possible (except for lunch... LMAO!)

O.K. How would I start, does anyone know where to buy cheap products so that I can buy all of the parts that I need at one time. I live in Hawaii and the shipping is a b**** and is installing coil overs hard, what about the stereo situation, the guy cut the whole clip off of the harness to get the stereo when he sold it could I rewire the wires to another clip somehow or would I need to take it to a proffessional. I am very good at doing things with my hands but I am a perfectionist and if I dont know crap I aint gonna do crap because I dont wanna jack things up, I want my car to come out perfect but Im gonna need all of your guys technical advice in the next few months. Thanks for any advice

Search on this forum for "stereo wire diagram" or a derivative. Somebody just recently posted the color codes. It may even be in the FAQ thread.

I think civickiller lives in Hawaii... there are others too...

Do you need this car right away or is it something for you to "toy" with? If you don't need it right off I would say go ahead and start planning a engine
swap.

Is an engine swap hard? I done it before with this exact same kind of car that I ordered a jdm engine from noyan but it was the same d15 b2 engine. It was really easy, all I did was swap all the parts to the new engine and most of them matched right up. But if I put a zc engine wont alot of things change like the wiring, ecu, and engine parts. Another thing the car is an automatic, is there anyway that I can switch to a 5 speed with no major fabrications or complications.

auto to manual.... transmission swap to a 5 speed... stereo go to a junk yard find the exact stereo clip and cut it off make sure that its long enough at the ends so you can color match the one in your car use heat shrink works best and solder... i bought me an 88 civic hb dx for 100 fixed a lot of things on it but now it runs great...
