I have started downloading a lot of Oasis's songs, started off with Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova and then just started downloading a lot of them, and probably won't stop until I have them all! I dont know, they are a great band, but what hits me is the lyrics, they're some of the greatest lyrics I've heard and are easily equal to Staind's lyrics. For some reason I hate the mood that this music puts me in, because of recent events that I haven't shared with AF, just too hard on me and I don't know why but thought I'd just let ya know they are an awesome, awesome band!!!

I remember at the height of their popularity almost 10 years ago, some critics in the music industry were comparing them to The Beatles, and that they were supposed to be "the next big thing."

They were and they say their attitudes kept them from becoming much of anything.

Yeah, a lot of them are very depressing. Stop crying your heart out is ath the end of The Butterfly Effect, very good song, and as soon as I played it and recognized it I about lost it, immediately thought of things that well...are very troubling but I kept my composure somehow.

"fucking work of art", sounds good!
I like em. There's a few songs of theirs I've been looking for about a year. Everytime I heard it I go "OMG what's that song?!" but the radio never, ever tells you what song it is.

Hmmmmm
Oasis' old stuff used to be great, but their attitudes are wrong. A friend of mine saw them years ago, they played one song, got in an argument, one brother smacked the other, and they left the stage. End of concert.
And Staind is pretty low on the "wow amazing lyrics" scale ;)

I've been an Oasis fan since before they got big in America... great song that almost no one knows: Live Forever... great lyrics, great sound...
They were much bigger in Europe than they were in America and when Noel knocked his father out in a hotel in New York, things just got worse and worse. They knew how good they were but no one wanted to admit that they were nothing without the others. They all believed they were the key to Oasis.
Good news though, they got back together and are releasing a new CD within a month or so. They've dropped the alcohol (another downset for them) and they sound just as good as ever.

I think the big problem with Oasis was Noel, I saw a show during his "I'm better than the rest of these guys" stage, where he decided to go back to England. Liam sang everything, and he sounded thousands of times better than his brother. Noel has always had a bad attitude that rubbed me the wrong way. :2cents: Otherwise OASIS RULES!!!
