It will probably lose you 2-3 HP.

If you can, send that back. They aren't worth the money unless you tune for it. On top of that, you don't need it until you are making so serious horsepower numbers. Like over 500.

i did not know my car was going to lose that, i belive i can not return without a 15% lost.

i have a problem my car keeps on heating up, i think it is the sensor, but who knows, that is why i have a manual fan and a 160 thermostat, and i thought putting the MAF will help.

any advise, i think it heats up because it sometimes the temp passes 210 it probably goes up to 230

wow that sucks... dont know what to tel ya.....wait did you flush the colant part of the engine too. it gets water everywhere but it might help. it you take the hose that sends the coolant into the engine off and stick the hose in it turn it on full blast (oh and the other hose so the water will pour out of the engine and not go into your radiator) and start your engine and that should fush anything out of the engine if theres somtheing in there. let it run for a while and watch the temp gage!!!! make sure you dont over heat cause it will happen kinda quick with water going throught it...well it did for me but it didnt get too hot but it was hot. and i guess while your hoses are off flush the radiator again just to be sure. goodluck

Fans are programmed to come on at 224* F...you aren't over heating unless the fans don't come on and the temp keeps rising.

Oh, and a MAF sensor won't cause a car to over heat without throwing a code..and then the car would be running like total crap..so you'd know you had a real problem.

Morley's on the money again, Gm likes running these puppies hot for emissions. Ballparked avg. run temp s/b 205-220 on most 3rd & 4th gens. And in traffic it will have a tendancy to be higher. Sounds like your ok so long as it dosen't get worse.

If you are concerned about it running too hot put in a manual fan switch, that way when you are stuck in traffic you can flip it on when it looks like you're gonna be going slow for a while. Hell they even make switches that are both manual and automatic built into one so you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it on.
