Race gas prices

Hey guys, just curious how much you pay for race fuels in your area? The local track is the only place to get it around here without having to drive a good distance. Their prices are $5/gal for 105 unleaded, $6/gal for 110 leaded, and $7/gal for 114 leaded. This is all Sunoco race fuel. I knew race gas was expensive, but $7/gal for 114? That seems a bit TOO high, IMO. If all race fuel is this expensive, I will definitely be using water/alky injection on pump gas instead of race gas.

Leaded gas actually doesnt mess up the car?

...makes them stop working faster. I guess someone smarter could provide a technical look into what exactly wears them out. Who has a cat these days anyway? :)

I pay 8 something for sunoco nos supreme 117 octane. When the track sold VP fuels, C16 (116) was also 8 dollars. It a bit more expensive when you buy at the track, but its the most convienent for me. Some poeple buy large drums of it and keep it at home, you can save a few dollars a gallon this way if you can afford the up front cost.

Well I've struck it rich, a guy we know was opening up a new Shell station up the street from me. Several of us got him to carry Sunoco 110, and get this, his price is $4.15 a gallon!

We have that locally for 3.99 :) I've run it before, CAM2. Not a bad fuel at all. In fact there was a time when I stepped down from the 117 to the 110 and got faster, when the setup was a little smaller.

We actually mix our feuls, and we have found that by mixing you can save engine life and get a little more HP.

Well related to this topic. I found out that localy I can get 55gallon drums of methonal for $130. I know I can not run pure methonal, but what would be a decent mix for making race gas. Whats the octane ratting on methonal? Could I make my mix 114? I am thinking of daily driving on it.(not my GS)
