this is my first question to the group. ihave a 95 aurora with 111k miles on it. i bought a new (iac) idle motor actuator. seems easy to install except for one thing. it says to refer to tech manual to set the actuator adjustment screw. any one have any info on how to do this adjustment?

I have a 96 and there is no adjustment. The only screws referenced are the attatching screws. Tighten to 27 lb in

I have a 95 as well. The ICM in mine tweaked out the other night so i did a looksy in my shop manuals and on the forums. There is a screw which does adjust. Do a search on ICM and you should find a post regarding some relearn procedures. Try adjusting the screw and then "RELEARN" the computer. The procedure involves turning the cars ignition to the on position and off again with like 30 seconds between time. I did this because my ICM started clicking in and out after I shut off my car. The problem went away in the morning and then tonight I cleaned the throttle body, replaced the FPR (had an extra), and cleaned the EGR. Now my engine will periodically tach high to low real quick. I think its the EGR seal.

The only worry I would have would be why play with the screw? Mine was messing up and I think I will need a new one soon. What is yours doing. I would not recomend trying to use the ICM screw to slow the idle speed. The ICM not only moves in and out to change idle because of what the PCM decides, but it feedsback the idle position. I would move the pedal only the smallest amount and the motor would stop clicking. Let go and it would resume until it decided to stop.
