Hi people. I could really use your help. I have an 87 Rx7, with a mid 80's Chev 350 in it. I pulled the 350 out last winter to paint it up, and do some things to it, but now I forget how the starter gets wired up. There are three posts on the starter. a big post (I assume it's for positive), and two small posts the small post closest to the block is labled "s", the small post further away from the block is labled "r". Can someone explain what wires should go where?. Thanks a lot.

Chris.

I'm 99% sure on this, but double check with someone else. Obviously the big lug is from the battery. The S comes from the switch to activate the solenoid and the R goes to the distributor. Common wire colors for S are blue or purple. Common wire colors for R are either yellow or cloth coated white... if you're using GM wiring :)

I beleive your off on one though for my 81 350 the r is a ground the rest is basically right according to the diagrams in my manual the s goes to the coil which then goes to the switch and distributor from there. But if your's is mid 80's then it might be different but you might try that anyway.
