Is the rack and pinion a real critical part on your car. my car does a clicking sound at times when i take of or sometimes when i am driving slow but not much when driving fast is it a dangerous to drive with it like that? its a 94 civic ex , does anyone know if it is hard to install a rack and pinion? or is there a way to just repair it?

You can fix any thing, with the right skills and tools.

Your rack & pinion are very important, that is what your steering wheel is connected, and that controls your front tires(steering)

Take the car to some who know what to look for then report back to us.

It's very possible one of the rack bolts was loose, it's not the first time. And yes it can make noise when a rack bolt is loose.
