How awesome would sliding doors be on a compact? Is it possible?

Hmm never thought of that? WHY? im sure it could be done. Id assume it be much like "lambo doors" You would need custom frames/tracks for the bottom and tops!

no way... lambo doors cost bucks cause of the hydrolic arms and making sure you adjust them properly. Thats hardware cost more then anything.
If youget creative im sure you could do it for less them lambo doors, like half even!

if you could run the slider in the side molding spot, and another along the door sill, that would actually work

looks like someone was given some ideas
but would need some fabrication for the guide on the bottom of the door...

Have you ever heard of the Mitsubishi Expo or Eagle Summit? It's basically like the size of a WagoVan or smaller and I think it has a sliding passenger side rear door. These vehicles are very rare. I found a 5 speed one for cheap but didn't have any $ for it at the time... probably could drop a 4g63 in one too...haha...

yeah well we know what happens when someone gives me an idea.....my car gets further and further under construction. like the prelude taillight conversion that no one thought i would do, and the CRX front conversion that people questioned why i wanted to do, and the integra suspension that people insiste couldnt be done. and the ITR steering wheel that everyone claimed wouldnt bolt up. and the NES in the glovebox that "would never fit".
im actually thinking about making power rear side windows. the dodge caravan has little motors that open the hinged back windows. they still open the same as the stock hatchback windows, but powered instead of manual clamps.
and then, if i hooked them up to an ABS wheel sensor, i could get them to open up at a certain speed. new twist on 4/60 A/C huh?

your very creative with your ideas, the idea of windows opening at a certain speed just sounds cool.
