it's actually closer to like 4-5 inches. The complete trunk is gutted (spare and those plastic things to the side and everything.

I had a previous box which was sealed (that box is ported, but can't see it in the picture, and it is SOOOOOOOO much louder than before. I have had subwoofers in my car since I was 16, and always have listened to music loud. I'm used to my loud music when most people can't handle it in my car. With this box it actually hurts my ears and I can't listen to it loud for very long. I am very impressed with the box and it's completely beautiful.

What amp/wattage are you running?

Some time this summer my uncle and I are finally going to build my 2-seater conversion/sub box. It's gonna hold 2 12" Kicker CompVRs and 2 Kenwood 800W (240x2) amps plus a new Optima yellow top powering it all  .

Yours looks good man.

u got me thinkin bout makin an enclosure similar to that. im thinkin of having it slant down towards the center like a V, but have them tilted slightly back. i wonder if that would sound good havin that set up in these cars.

You should see the design that I have set up to put into my stealth for a system. It includes 2 sub boxes.. into one big one. Really confusing unless you look at my drawing. Although I wont give out the drawing until the system is complete. Im sure you guys will be impressed. Also old and good where did you get that spacer for the tape deck/cd player?

If I ever get a sub (probably a single 10") I'm gonna get one of the boxes he makes that fits on hte left side and only portrudes like a inch into the trunk. And some Focal acess components and a soundstream picasso amp.. MMM, but after the DP and boost controller.

I have just one Sony 10" in my car now in a simple box with the sub firing back and slightly up. Being a hatchback; the thing hits HARD inside. Makes me wonder what it's gonna be like with my new setup... going from 1 10" to 2 12"s and more than doubling the wattage. I might go deaf lol.

I took the spacer from a 1 Gen eclipse that my friend was selling. i have seen thoes on many mmc's old galant's and more. think you can probably get them for free in junkyards or at least wery cheap and they also look good!

a single 10" is honestly just about right maybe a single 12". the space in the car is so little that sound generation is great.

about the precious trunk space there is of course the extra trunk space wich some call back seats, but i like to call the bigger trunk

it's really hard to see it, but that box is ported, and in the middle is a port hole.

I had my girl friends (not girlfriends) sit on the port where their crotch was right over the port hole, and they didn't want to get off of it. It's really funny.

If I get a flat tire, i'll call my insurance company to come tow me.

It really does hit very hard. It'sjust crazy. It flexes the metal in my hatch, and even with dynomat, it rattles the trunk like hell. Nothing I can do about that. I kid you not when you can actually hear me from well over 6 blocks away.

Everything, and I mean everything in my car vibrates with the music. I can't even hang up my cell phone on my visor anymore because it will just vibrate right off onto the floor.

That's one thing I'm worried about with my new system. Mine now rattles the shit out of my rear view mirror when it hits.

That doesn't look too bad but the pic is kinda dark. I am taking a box that's been taking up space in the shop and just got done routing the edges and slapping bondo on it. Next, I will sand and seal it then shoot 3d graphics on it.

funny you should say that. The bass was so much in my car that it actually snapped the rear view mirror in half. it didn't just fall off at the part that glues to the windshield. the vibration was so much it snapped the metal arm of the rear view mirror off in half. The part that glues to the windshield is just there, but no rear view mirror.
