hey guys, i just bought a 12" sub a box and an amp. I have run all of the wires but i need some help with the actual head unit. It is the stock head unit on a 2005 spec v and i have an adapter that will allow me to run aftermarket speakers from the stock head unit. Has anyone done this before and could tell em what i need to know before trying it?

nevermind guys i figured it out, run the power wire down the drivers side through the grommet that is behind the fuse panel, you will have to make ahole in the rubber because it will not fit in between the rubber and wire that is already there. then pop the back seats up and out to run your remote wire (thin blue wire) and then reinstall the seats. if you are using the factory head unit, you can solder in a line adapter to the rear sub. then run your rca patch fromt he adapter to the amp. pop the dash console towards you to remove it (all interior panels pop in and out on the spec v) pull the 6 screws that hold in the head unit and slide it out. on the harness with the grey tape around it there should be a pink wire, strip a bare spot on this wire and splice a piece of thin gauge speaker wire to it, TAPE ALL CONNECTIONS! i shorted my head unit learning the hard way. then run a open end connector off of that wire and another open ender on your remote wire. attach these with a fuse (makeshift fuse box) now if your wires short it blows your homeade fuse and not your head unit. reinstall and ground your amp and thump away
