AC problema

Help! I have a '97 T&C 3.3 liter with 95K and, only once in a while and only when idling with the AC on, the temp guage climbs. Once moving, or when the AC is turned off, it comes back down to normal. Any ideas? Thanks! PS: the thermostat is fairly new.

Check and make sure the fans are running. They are designed to come on when the AC runs. If they are not running then that would account for the temp going up. Check the fan temp sensor and the fan relay. Otherwise check the fans by putting power to the terminals to insure the motor works.
