93 ford spout connector problem

hope someone can help with this, have a 93 crown vic with a weird issue. with the spout connector plugged in and the key off the fuel pump continues to run. unplugged the fuel pump relay, still runs, unplug the spout connector and it stops. also the check engine light comes on intermitantly but when i check codes all i get is 111. when we got the car the spout connector must have been missing cause i hadn't checked timing and when i went to do it noticed it was missing and car is pinging now. any ideas?
