i am looking to buy a prelude and i have the choices down to either a 98 prelude with the h22a with 91,000 miles on it... or a 95 prelude si with the h23a1 engine with 86,000 miles on it... i cant decide... the 95 is obviously cheaper but i am not sure if it would be better to put a turbo on the h23 or just add engine mods and no turbo to the h22a1 with 91k

4th gen H23+mods+turbo > 5th gen H22a+mods.

Just my opinion, partly because I like 4th gens better and partly because a turbo h23 has more potential than a non-turbo h22.

If you're looking to make your car fast, and it sounds like you are, I agree 100%. The money you'd have getting the 4th gen could probably get you a nice turbo set-up too.

plus 4th gens actually look cool, 5th gen = ugly

Go with the 4th gen. You'll have the option of boosting your h23, or even swap out for an h22 for now, and then boosting that down the road.

the h23 is a lot better for forced induction especially turbo and the 4th gen preludes are lighter too.

4th gen is the way to go.

4th gen is the most differnt looking out of all the preludes being the curviest. 5th gen went back to its roots of the first 3 generations. 4th gen is the most popular and easier to find aftermarket parts. Prelude has also been the sports car version of the accord. In my opinion the 4th gen lude would be better for the fact that you will have money to turbo the engine because of the price difference. Im still a fan of the H22 engine.
