Get your tires hot enough so they wont spin as much.

Unless your have DR's or Slick this is pretty useless other than a quick scrub to clean em off and get the water off if you didn't go around the water box. You won't get street tires to get any hotter/stickier by burning em up

^^^what he said. Most street tires get oily as you melt them, and hooking is harder than simply cleaned off tires.
If you don't spin your tires from a dead stop by simply mashing the throttle, try standing on the brake and gassing up and preloading the convertor, then let off the brake and mash the throttle.
Don't forget to shift manually, and shift back into first shortly after the "1-D" shift. If you time it right, it will lock it in second gear and not shift to 3rd too soon for you. Just shift back into drive when you want 3rd.
Set your timing to 14, pull your intake silencer, and make sure your TPS voltage is at .99V before the run. Oh, and a bag of Ice on the intake between runs. And Good Luck! Let us know how it goes!

All pertty good. but I think you mean the 1-D-1, holds second. Also, I would not set the TPS to .99 volts, that's WAY too close to 1 volt and you don't want that. .95 will be just as good.
Yes Bobby, new axles might be in the works. I'm going to Lebanon next Wednesday to try out the new sticky's, come on out. I'm off to take care of my tire rubbing fender issue right now.

I dunno if I can make it Wednesday cause the DMV is fighting me about my truck assholes! But I think I'll be out for the Rally the 15th.
Hey did Mark mention I have Drag Springs to help you wit ya tire issue? Also I think I have a 31-spline trac-loc lying around for an 8.8.

Well, Yes, most tires do oil up, and street tires wont get more traction if burned up, but if you do a quick little spin just to get them hot, they should stick a little.

I worded the 1-D-1 shift all stupidly...
And I brainfarted the .99V Thanks for the correction.
I'm too befuddled right now with MAF transfer functions and other stuff with my shiny new TwEECer and laptop, I'm forgetting some basic crap....
