Does it just show that whenever you try to play a cd, or is it always like that? If it's always like that, then that means your CD player is locked and you need the code to unlock it. Just call up a Pontiac dealership, read them your VIN, and they'll give you the code to put in. And when you go to enter it, you would do it as if you were setting the time on the clock. Pretty simple stuff, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

BTW, anytime you unhook your battery, your radio will lock up again. And you will need the code to unlock it. It's one of the security features it has. I can't remember right off the bat how to deactivate it, since I use an aftermarket head unit, maybe someone else here knows.

I had an E20 on my cd player and after doing some research I found out that basically the cd player isn't able to read cds anymore and you either a) send it out and get it rebuilt or b) (which is what I did) buy a used one somewhere, I got mine off of ebay. its an easy swtich since its a direct switch
