so here i am sitting here in class in the morning, i'm barely awake and hating yet another boring day of school, when all of the sudden i hear talk of street racing on "channel 1 new" (stupid 10 min news show showed in highschools across america that bases all stories off of heresay and no factual representation that modern day idiots can't look past) well anyways it catches my interist and i begin to listen intently. Come to find out they are talking of the dangers of street racing and they themselves so boldly say on the news that street racing is "considered" 100 times more dangerous than driving drunk BS BS BS BS cough*BS*cough, i hate it how news say what sounds good and appealing and will really catch the eye of viewers not what actually is factual information, sorry i'm turning this post into something way longer than it should be. In conclusion they talked about how Florida legislators are trying to pass a bill or reform or law or whatever you wanna call it to make it such that, if a street racer is caught racing more than ONCE in a 5 YEAR period their car can be taken away from them. Talk about gay idk, sorry i made this into a big vent fest but i think this whole thing is just crap. Well hope not TOO many of you guys are in florida, let me know what you think.

The news can be anything from blatent lies to fiction based on fact. most ppl are fuking retards anyway and believe EVERYTHING they see on tv.

Fox news is the biggest load of crap to ever hit the human race and remember our little species has been through 2 world wars and bubonic plague.

Their sensationalist news reporting style makes them big bucks which some stupid people interpret as good quality news. Sadly, every other channel is willing to sell their soul to copy their formula.

I'm in FL, my friends and I were talking about that bill earlier and if it gets passed then there will be a lot of enraged ricers who spent all their money on body kits and fart cans who will be very upset...... It is unfortunate that thats how your typical 'street racer' is defined.

Im in Florida aswell. I have also heard that if your caught 'street racing' once you get a $1k fine and your license suspended for a year.Twice and either permanent license removal or a 5 year suspension. Anyone know if there is truth to that?

last i had checked it was if you get caught street racing more than once in a 1 year period your liscence is suspended for a certain amount of time. The only question i really have with the new bill is what do they call street racing. I wonder if you have to go a certain mph or if it has to be one of those "big" street racing events you always see in the movies where its just so obvious everyone there is either watching a race or participating in it, or if its just pulling up to a light and gunning it against a complete stranger counts all the same. Let's hope its not the latter.

im glad i live in michigan sometimes. This hick state barely even knows what street racing is. Muscle cars out number ricers, and the cops are usually pretty cool.

i heard it that in america everything that is a bit of news that can sell gets blown up or twisted. And it seems that it all turns around fear there with you guys on the news.
And then there's bush that talks about freedom and justice when i see hardly half the freedom that we get here.

well i see this has turned into quite the political thread... isnt this a car forum? shit has always been sensationalized on the news, even in belgium. only difference with fox news is that its coming from the other side of the political spectrum. and you said over there youve always had fair news... so i suppose you call aljazeera fair news too? you have to be able to look at it from an objective point of view, you think your news channels are fair because they have a liberal slant just like you.

One: If we are gonna argue politics, Bush's tax cuts helped me buy a CAI, so Bush supports street racing.

Two: I hated Chanel one news, a bunch of kids who think they know the news that have been brainwashed by a bunch of commie bastard adults

I'm in Fl. I'm one of like two people I know that steet race. Friends with prolly 20 people I talk to regularly. I haev no tickets, no wrecks, still have my safe driver status. I'm 18, been driving since I was 15. Went over 100mph in the drivers seat when I was 15. Def did plenty of stupid shit.lol Adn I go over 100mph ona regular basis.

Now heres my survey, out of those 20 people, all of them haev either a ticket or a wreck. And funny thing is they don't speed. Most have both. So uh yea, Channel one is full of shit. I remember that stupid ass show.lol, but it beat doing work.lol
