Air tank Q

I was just about to buy this air tank FINALLY http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=22662&item=4380611181&rd=1
But I emailed the guy and asked if it would work on a bike tire valve to pressurize to about 20 psi and he said "This is more for air tools than a tire." So will it work? I'm pretty sure the car and bike tire valves are different sizes so that's my only real question. I dont want to buy it and then find out it only fits car tire valves.

Forgot, I'm using it to pressure test my intake with the Vfaq design.

I dont see how you could run air tools off that tank, its almost laughable. Bike and tire shreader valves are the same size. It will work fine for a leak tester, but be aware that a large leak will empty hat tank fast. Mine is 6 times larger at 30 gallons and I have to refill it after just a minute or so with a big leak. But it will work fine.

One last question. How do I get the end to stay on the tire valve? It doesn't have one of those levers like on bike pumps.

You just have to hold it there. That tank is definately not made for air tools. Most air tool friendyly tanks have built in air compressors.

you can buy a end with a lever. try sears, homedepot, lowes etc...

I prefer to not even use a tire valve and use a air hose quick disconnect. STick it on, no holding frees up the hands, and less restriction makes finding large leaks much easier. With a 30 gallon tank it works extremely well, but with a smaller tank like that it may not be practical.

Well, I got outbid on that tank and I guess it was a good thing. I went down to home depot and picked up an 11 gallon tank with a bike pump type end for $37-- $10 more than I would have paid for the 5 gallon. I'm gonna go fill it up at the gas station tomorrow and see if I have any leaks.
