95 LeSabre Randomly Stalls

Hey Folks:

I read the post by JStormz and this sounds similar to what's happening with my fiance's 1995 LeSabre. It will just stall randomly. Might run fine for several days though. She's already had the fuel pump and filter replaced so that's not a suspect. When it does stall, the door locks and windows won't operate. The first thing I told her to do was to have the battery checked. (I had a 95 Chrysler that did the same thing and it was the battery.) Battery was ok. She had all the diagnostics ran on it and nothing showed up. My next suspect was the VATS module, but in the research I've done, it has nothing to do with anything but the starter and fuel injection circuits. The car will still crank, it just won't start until it sits for a while. The GM dealer where she lives, had the car for three days and it never stalled on them and they drove a full tank of gas through it. The mechanic there said something to the effect that "The module might not be reading the door." I guess in reference to the locks and windows not working, but he neglected to specify which "module", so I'm rather dubious about that one. However, the ground lugs in the aforementioned post seem likely so I'll forward that to her. Any other ideas you might have would be appreciated. I'm halfway across the continent from her right now, so I can't look at it myself and that makes it rough to determine what to tell her next. Thanx.

I have had two different vehicles (not Lesabres though) that would stall and if you sat and waited 30-45 minutes, they would start and go again for a little while. Both times, it turned out to be the ignition module. The module would get too hot and cut out. One of those I still have (a IH Scout) and the only way it will run now is with a C clamp sqeezing the ignition module. Would think there would be a code though. Autozone will read the codes for free. Might run it by there after it does it to see if something was recorded. Also, might be the crankshaft positon sensor or maybe the camshaft pos. sensor. Should be a code though.
