I think my starter is staying engaged too long. It grinds on start up and its really annoying. I think its just because it doesnt Disengage quick enough. Any input on cost of the part would be helpful.

Starter was like $140 for me. They def aren't cheap like the old days, but mine lasted till 135k which I think is pretty good.

haha. I got an extra 1k out of it by carrying a hammer and a metal pole in my car. But yea, you have me beat. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon14.gif

so did you have to have someone crank the motor while you whacked it with a hammer or did you do it all by yourself?

I had the same prob just give it a few whacks before you try and start it and then its good to go. Sad part is when you whack it, and whack it, and your out like 20 miles away from your house and then it decides to stop working! That sucked. But yeah I got a replacement one from Pep Boys and that shit isnt even working right. Oh well.
