Thats not a 1996, unless he swapped out motors and got his bumpers painted or swaped them. Either you have a typo or someone has got somthing wrong somwhere.

Can you confirm the year of this car so we can all stop guessing? You should get the VIN of the vehicle and contact GM if you wanna be positive about the year.

Better yet, save yourself the trouble of calling GM and just get the VIN of the vehicle. Look at the 10th character of the VIN. If it's a "T" then your car is a 96 and if its a "W" then you have a 98.

I'll go write it down today...then just plug it in to carfax, and without paying, it'll give year, make, model...

That care is IDENTICAL to my 2002 Chevy Cav LS sports coupe. Except I have a factory spoiler. Even the interior is the same. Sure it's not an '02?

Edit: ok, I take that back, looking closer at the pictures, not identical.. My heat/AC is below the stock am/fm cd player. My stock tail lights are different, front bumper is different, but you could put my car next to that and not be able to tell much off a difference. 96 or 98... the cavy didnt change much in appearence over the years from the 2002 :screwy:

Yeah from 1995 to 2002, it was the same car pretty much....03-05 was a different front end and different tail lights...thats about the only difference...

yes you are right: there were no significant changes between 96-98. In 2000 they were very minor. Different rims, lights and the getrag transmission was offered (if I am not mistaken). In '03 the big change occured.
