Ok, so I was planning on holding out until I was done but the influx of others has made me want to post this really badly. I hope that posting a progress thread doesn't make me lose interest like I think has happened in the past. Anyway, I've got a bitchin' Camaro in the works. And here is the progress so far:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/DSC01963.jpg
302 -> Banks twin turbo setup. The intake manifold will be color matched to the body, as will the engine and transmission.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro02.jpg
Had to rework the chassis to fit the big wheels that ya'll are gonna hate.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro03.jpg
Which, of course, means I had to redo the rear end. Leaf springs are in my rage cage anyway, so to hell with them!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro06.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro07.jpg
Body work done. I shaved the door handles, all the "Camaro" scripts, the little trim under the door, deleted the foglamps on the front air dam, and redid some panel lines. I also modified the bumpers, not pictured.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro11.jpg
No pics after the first coat, but this is it masked off for two tone. Simple trick - cut a very narrow strip of tape (2mm or so) and do the contour with that, and then mask the rest. Hit it with the original color, let it dry a bit, then hit it with the second color. Magic!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro14.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro15.jpg
Don't ya'll just hate those wheels? Colors are from Cobra Colors, Silverstone Metallic (Honda S2000) and Copperhead Orange Pearl (for the Viper, I think, is also the orange on my Fit paint experiment)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro16.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/Camaro17.jpg
Interior. I originally intended to make it modern, high tech with CF trim and all that jazz, but then decided to go more luxurious with a leather interior. The steering wheel is from a Tamiya S2000 (go figure) and the dash is modified 'cause I hated the stock instrument cluster. I smoothed it, added instrument decals from a rat rod, and trimmed the bottom edge of the dash on the passenger side for good measure. The seats from a Fujimi Evo VII because SAS seats just don't work in 1:25. No shifter because it's gonna be orange like the body. Also, I forgot armrests.

The only other thing complete and not pictured is the grill, which is gloss black. I used the healight lenses from the Lotus 7 because they had crisper and more interesting lens pattern in the glass. I will use the Lotus' chrome headlight buckets with the Camaro lenses behind the grill to make up for the deleted air-dam lamps. They are, thank goodness, the exact same size.

Finals are this week, so there won't be much to see until next week. I plan to finish it by the 19th. Comments and criticisms welcome, especially since I am pretty ignorant as far as domestics come.

Woa! That's one sick Camaro! Love the painjob and rims (the tech ain't bad either). I've got the 67 Chevelle waiting in my closet for a Pro touring treatment (yep U guessed it: a twinturbo setup with IC)! Paint will be two tone also. I can't wait to see this Camaro finished! :icon16:

Thanks everyone! Thank you for the very generous words for this car. I'm pleased with it, too, which is probably why I've gotten so much done for it. Dukeman, I hope my motor looks as good as yours! What did you use for the shroud around the exhaust turbines? The wheels are stirring less controversey than I expected, but to the detractors - too bad! These wheels pretty much inspired me to get to work on this thing. I'll refer to this car as a whip from now on, if it makes you happy....

The turbos are made with the same method that this guy (http://www.imbalancechemical.com/lucky13/default.asp) uses for his centrifugal superchargers, except I stopped after he made the turbine portion and just punched a peice of styrene out with a hole punch to back the turbo with.

Thanks everybody!

 Kickass :smokin: . What a breath of fresh air on what is one of the most stale and completely over-popular subjects...'69 Camaros...like bellybuttons, everyone's got one. It's the Nissan Skyline for old pharts. :evillol:

Sometimes I worry when I open up a thread on A/F listed as "Pro Touring" because some guys obviously don't get the concept...if I see another 70's-era street machine model w/big and little Centerlines and a huge blower poking through a hole in the hood w/o any scoop, and labeled "Pro-Touring" ...:shakehead

Or, what's worse, a 70's era street machine model with 26 inch wheels labeled "Pro-Touring" :p But, willimo is cool about it. This model is definately awesome, even if the wheels are a little...odd.

Been doing some motor work this weekend, sinc my last final was Saturday (School's out for the summer!! School's out forever!!)(Really, it is, graduation time!). Not a lot of work done, and I still have a lot of plumbing and wiring to do, but it's mostly there. Two turbos, color matched plenum, fuel rails, some fuel and oil piping, alternator and idler all modified and attached. I still have to do the wastegates, I might go lazy and do internal wastegates, but I really should do it right. Air filters, too. About halfway with the motor. Anyway, enough jibba-jabba.

I wish my camera had a macro. My girl is gonna lend me her camera when it's done so I can take some good pictures.
