High Idle Problem, NEED HELP

I have been searching the net for information on what is wrong with my 93 Bronco 302 engine. It did it before and I changed out the Idle Air Bypass valve and it corrected it for a while and now it is doing it all over again. So I changed the valve again thinking I got a bad one. It didn't help. The valve itself reads fine and so does the old one that I replced. The idle is very high around 1200 to 1400 in gear and 2200 to 2400 in park. I do not like putting it into drive while the idle is that high because I don't want to lose my rear end and drive line. I took it to a shop and they put it on a computer and he told me that the computer on my truck was going out, that when you unplug the computer and then check the sensors and IF they read nothing then it is the computer... I don't know if that is true or not. I have looked in my Haynes book (yeah I know it isn't the best but it is all that I have) and one wire goes to the computer the red goes to the injectors then goes to the computer... if that is so then of course it won't read anything when you unplug the computer because you removed all the power to it. This problem is driving me nuts!
When you start it cold with everything pluged in it is fine, it will warm up and idle ok... but sometimes it idles up and down like it is sergeing. But after it is warm and you get those RPM's past 1200, its all over with, the RPM's won't go back down UNLESS you get on it and get those RPM's up then when you come to a stop the idle goes where it is suppost to be... around 800. But if you drive it normal then those RPM's are up. And when you are stopped you are fighting the truck. Needless to say I will have to replace my breaks too after all of this. I hate to say it but I have been driving it with that idle air bypass valve unpluged just to save my rear end and drive line.
Could it be the computer that is going out? Any ideas or help would be very greatful!!! Thanks for reading!

Had another who has worked on fords for at least 25 years say that it is the TPS. I agree with him!
