I have a '00 Tib and I'm having a very aggrivating problem with my 3rd shift. When I shift into 3rd gear, it grinds...just a tad. Enough to notice. I had Hyundai fix these last June or July. They won't replace the same thing unless I paid for it out of my pocket. The problem I run into now, is that my Tib was under warranty last year, so Hyundai paid to have them replaced at no cost to me. So...I have to pay big $$ to have them replace the synchro's. Another problem with 3rd gear, is when I shift into 3rd...and let out on the clutch, the stick comes out of gear, and if I try my damndest to hold the stick in 3rd....the grinding is VERY loud..and finally it goes into gear. It's getting to the point to where I'm thinking of driving in 2nd and completely avoiding 3rd until I can get to 4th. I really don't want to do this, but I'm tearing up my synchro's and prolly everything else by doing all of this grinding. I don't know what else to do, I'm not a mechanically inclined guy, and I was looking for advice. Can someone tell me if webtech tells you how to replace these or would anyone know where I could get this work done cheaply? I looked on eBay and can't find any synchro's for Hyundai. Only for Ford....who wants a Farked Up Rebuilt Dodge?! *lol* :grinyes:

when you factor in labor and everything involved with replacing the synchros, it is cheaper and easier to just replace the entire tranny. keep an eye out on ebay, you'll find a cheap one.

then just follow this:
