Question on a 99 EB

Inherited a Expedition a few months ago and it has ran fine. Took it this morning and washed the motor.....now it's missing badly. I have checked for a vacuum hose that may have come off, but to no avail. I also thought maybe a plug had gotten some water down in it, but I drove 30-40 miles hoping the water would burn off. After 12 hours now, It's still missing.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Wylie

Check the coil boots and coils. Water and these do not like each other. Replace the plugs while you are in there so you only have to pull them one time. Use Motorcraft plugs.

better to leave the engine dirty and running good! hehe! lost 2 coils in less then 50 miles driving, each time requiring a trip to the dealer to the tune of 250$$, a tuneup will run right at 250$$ as well, on the plus side, the spark plugs are intended to last 100k miles.
know this was'nt what you really wanted to hear, but i do love my ride!

Thanks for your replys. After a day and a half of drying out, she's running smooth again. I guess some water got down into the spark plug shaft??

Thanks again,

Wylie
