Your best bet is to go to a Haynes manual which can be bought at any larger parts chain store. It lists what to do and how to do it and tools you will need. I think it is about 15 dollars. It will pay for itself after doing 1 maintenance or repair. It's well worth the money.

I agree. You may also look into getting into getting a ODB 1 code reader for fords. (aprox $45) The garage will charge you around $250 to take a look at the chech engine light.

As for general maintainence keep it up my 93 Lx-e has 320 000 k on her and she still runs great.
