Hi guys
Problems, Problems, Problems!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 1999 Taurus SE, I have trouble with the wipers coming on by themselves. Anyone else have these problems and if so, what can i do about it. The check engine soon light stays on too. It also gives me probelms (taking the gas) seems to almost stall and then it picks back up, this does not happen all the time. The air/heating system is not working properly, the heat still blows, but only cool air,,it does not blow hot air, the air works fine. Can someone help me? Please let me know if anyone else has these problems or other problems with the 99 Taurus!
Thanks

The wiper thing may be a bad multifunction switch or a bad relay.
Without more information on the heating situation, the most likely scenario is that you have a clogged heater core; this can be verified by feeling the heater core hoses that run into the firewall. If one is hot and the other is cold, your heater core is plugged. If that checks out okay, you may have a stuck blend door or a bad blend door actuator. What is the reading on your temperature guage in the car, by the way?

I read about the taurus from like 1996 on that the hoses are a bad design thats why the heat isnt hot like it should.http://

Places like AutoZone will read the computer codes causing the engine light to come on.

the wiper thing was happenin 2 my moms right be4 her battery went dead, had a new one put in and it fixxed it? as far as the stalling goes, check your fuel filter, and if its not that it might be a sticking EGR, pull it off n spray carb cleaner in it n get all the carbon out, dont buy a whole new one

oh yea also check the IAC sensor, they stick sometimes n cause the engine RPMs to drop when idleing... you can pull this off n check the valve too and if it sticks get a new one, you can clean it and put it back on n see if the problem continues, but itll start back up if you dont replace it with a new one
