Funny Racing Story

Ok so I'm driving at night in the streets when I stop at a red light and this car pulls up. It's a Toyota Matrix (I laugh at first) but then he revvs and his BOV goes off( so hes showin it off) I'm like ok and when the light turns green we both floor it and I take him out on take and I beat him around 0-80mph hes about a car lenth behind me. I'm like damn why am I winning hes turbo. So all of a sudden he slows down so I slow down to about 55mph then me and him are even and hes showin off his BOV again. This time he floors it again and I'm like here we go again, hes like a tire ahead of me then I pass him at 92-95mph then he turns at the light. I'm thinking he can't drive for sh*t. But the thing is isn't turbo suppose to help you out? I think the Matrix run like high 16s or somethin but he had turbo. He would of won if we reach like 110mph and over but I guess he was scared. Anywayz it made my day or should I say night. Another car in my kill list:smokin:

Well I actually had a race with a turbo matrix earlier this year. Apparently the 130hp versions do have some aftermarket turbo kit made for them. So I guess that is what we both raced. The one I raced was pretty quick and probably could have beaten an SL.

So yes, turbos do make you faster, but I'm not sure without knowing what style turbo he had, there really isn't much that can be known about how fast he is. But remember stock he is 90 some hp slower than you, so perhaps it was just an averagely smaller sized turbo that just brought him to about even with you.

it could be tuned worth crap, my friend just put a turbo on his integra, and he has very noticably slowwed down, its kinda funny.

Wow it sounds exactly like my story. I guess these idiot Matrix think their fast because they have turbo. But the one I race was silver I think it prolly had a bodykit too. But I guess he can't keep up with my SL.

Probably had a fake BOV. :tongue: . But seriously, my friend used to have this fake turbo thing and a fake BOV on his Taurus (he did it all as a joke though. The thing was a POS so he threw those fake spinner hub caps on it, the fake turbo thing which was basically this little thing you mount in the exhaust tip and it whistles, fake BOV, neons everywhere...). Kids these days..... :shakehead

yea, I've heard about that fake BOV stuff... it's all just typical ricer bs to me, nice kill tho btw

just cause they are turboed dosent make them fast though!
I've killed a turboed Mitsu lancer, a Mazdaspeed Protoge and a turbo Civic. if you start with 120-130 hp a turbo will get you up around 180-190. you gotta tune em real well if you expect to put down good numbers.
I'm dying to run a Turboed Scion xA, I think those are cool little course cars.
