I am locked out of my 1989 bmw 525i. Could anyone tell me how to get in

Hopefully by now you've already figured something out. If not, do this: I'm assuming that your battery is dead and when you turn the key in the lock (electronic locks), nothing happens.
If so, go to the passenger door, insert the key and turn it toward the front of the car (like you usually would) but past the 45 degree angle where you'd normally stop. I've heard you are supposed to pull up the door handle AS you turn, but I've also heard to pull it up before turning. Not sure it matters. Anyway, turn past the resistance and the lock should manually pop up. You'll have to resynchronize the locks after your battery has juice again.
