This happened before I took the car into the shop for a bad head gasket. Anyways, i'm over at Auto Zone putting in a new battery. Some short gorgeous girl comes up to me. She has a short, extremely stocky dude behind her. They were basically admiring my car. Apparently they have 3 F bodies. The one they were in was a regular firebird. After a bunch of chitter chatter, and trying to avoid making eye contact with the girl, as I couldn't stop staring at her boobs (She was trying to show them off, and leaning over wherever I was ~ dunno if she was an exhibitionist ~). Turns out the guy was a husband, and really cool to boot. Anyways, he stated that he would like to run me, and also wanted me to listen to a problem he was having with his WS6. I told him to bring it while I was installing the battery on my car.
In a few minutes they were back with their WS6 convertible. It was an A4, and the only mods I could visibly see were a muffler and a strut tower brace. After hearing it I could hear that it had the dreaded LS1 piston slap, which plagues most F bodies. The guy's wife asked to hear my car, and I basically revved her up, and they automatically said, "that doesn't sound stock" :evillol: We went to the spot where I took Matty too originally, and decided to have a run. Here's how the run went:
I told him to honk 3 times (Didn't want to hear any excuses). He took off on the 2nd honk. I had the car revved to 3000 rpms. I slipped the clutch, felt my car fishtail very slightly to the left, and was at his front fender. I quick shifted to second, and could tell it was all over from there, as I passed him like it was nothing (Hence the reason he needs a shift program, as the stock A4's are too leisurely). By third he was well into my rearview mirror. We turned around, and he complained about not getting any traction. I would've told him I spun badly, but I didn't want to make him feel like he lost due to his car. Still the guy is lucky, a fine wife and a beautiful car, I think he went home the winner.
P.S. Danno, I think you're right, this car is a runner.
