Ice it a few times a day and try not to do anything that involves that muscle when possible. After a few days or a week start stretching it some, not much or you can risk tearing it again. For example if you have ever had a burn or large cut and after it heals over if you pull on it the skin will tear easily because the new "baby" skin isnt as thick as your other skin when it first forms. Same goes with muscles. Just ice it down to keep the swelling down and have fun and enjoy the nice bruise you are going to have.

Sounds like an intercostal muscle - muscles between the ribs. Painful for a week or so but should heal without a problem.
