Intermittent engine miss

My father-in-law has a 1989 Regency Brogham that has an intermittent miss. I already replaced the plugs and the wires. This really didn't help. Anyone with experience on this model have any good guesses? He just had the camshaft sensor and the button under the timing chain cover replaced, but it was doing this before that.

clean the MAF sensor lately?
which spark plugs and wires did you use?

I put OE AC Delco stuff back in - also the plugs didn't show any real wear or abnormal burning conditions. The MAF sensor is a good idea, how do you clean them? Carb cleaner / brake cleaner, compressed air?

does it miss when under power in overdrive going up a hill or something? if thats the case you might want to check the resistance across you coil packs you need to be around 10-13k between the two posts on each coil pack a weak coil pack will definitely cause a miss under power

NO NO NO NEVER USE ANY OF THAT ON A MAF SENSOR!!!
Your odds of frying it while cleaning with a q-tip and 70% rubbing alcohol are about 50/50 already

Any sort of cleaner will kill it instantly (I know this from experience lol) so be very very careful.
Use a q-tip and rubing alcohol and go very slowly not to damge the little wire connections to the sensor itself.
compressed air might be ok at a 6" distance but I would try to avoid it.

The resistance across the coil posts are 11.4K, 11.4K, and 12.2K Ohms. I checked the resistance of all the injectors, too - hot and cold. About 15.6 Ohms on all the injectors, give or take a tenth.
One thing I tried was hosing down the coil pak while it was running - finally got #3 to miss a little at idle after doing this. If it was my car I probably would have tried a coil by now, but I hate telling people to try this and that, without being sure. I think he's gonna live with it until it gets a little worse.

did you clean the maf yet? or look at it at least to see if it is dirty?
