1990 Celica Gt

Hey my friend just bought a 90 gt liftback to fool around with until he buys his M3. I was just wondering some of the specs on the car...Im having trouble finding them. I heard that these cars were good for 130 hp but thats about it. Are there any common problems among these cars for example eclipses and crankwalk? What is the quarter mile time for this car? I was guessing high 16s but its just a guess. Do these cars take well to mods? And what are some popular mods you would suggest? Thanks a lot.

i dont really know the specs of the 90 celica gt, but if you have the money just swap a 3sgte into the car and you will be at 200+ horse.

yea it has 130 hp 140ft lbs of torque, youll probably run high 16s.as team omega said you could do a 3sgte swap(expensive but effective)you could take the turbo from a 3sgte and put that on there. there is not much aftermarket support for theese cars. but u could do the usual stuff like intake, exaust, headers ect. nos makes a kit for them i beleive but im not a big fan of nitrous though.

Does the 3sgte just bolt on? Is that the engine from the 6th gen celica? Alright well thanks a lot for all the info, I personally wouldnt want one but they seem like quick nice looking cars especially for what year it is. In 1990 all the other companys were still stuck with more boxy designs.

Yes the 3sgte bolts on perfectly, thats if you have a GT/S model, not refering to the 2000+ models. The 3sgte is from the gt4 model which is an all wheel drive celica. Example-- look down at the picture i have, that's a 1994-1999 Celica GT4.

Is the GT4 the only model that had that engine in? Sorry I pretty much know nothing about toyota, im a mitsu guy.

yea there was 3 generations of the 3sgte 1st gen was in the 89 and lower gt 4 they had 190 hp. the second was in the 90-93 it had 200 hp. the 3rd was in the 94-99(not sold in the us) it had 260 hp. all these had awd. i think the 3sgte was also in early mr2s as well.
