Hey guys. Im selling my 1994 Accord sedan LX soon and was wondering if you guys thought it was wise for me to get these rust spots taken care of before i do. Theres pics below. I also need to find a tutorial or something on fixing em, can anyone help me with this? Just some intructions. Theres 2 different spots:

I would guess you live where they salt the roads in the winter. When you have rust like shown in your pix, it is in more then a couple of places. but not just not showing yet. You can fix those spots by cutting and welding or replacing panels but other spots will pop up almost as soon as these are fixed. Buy a MIG welder, a hand grinder and some bondo. Cut out the rust, weld in new metal and fill in with bondo. After the repair, primer and paint.

Yup. You need to cut in new metal. No fiberglass repair or bondo here. That rust probably extends so far away from what you can see internally, the only permanent fix would be new quarter panels, and it looks like that rot probably goes all the way through to the trunk. I bet it you pull the carpet out, you can see right through it. I wouldn't bother with it. Repairing it isn't going to increase the value enough to offset the repair.

Agreed, my Accord had almost identical rust spots when I got it. The previous owner had painted over a few, but the paint just bubbled again. Repairing it really isn't worth the money.

Alright guys i'll just let em be until i sell it. My antenna is also broken so i need a new motor/mast. Should i fix that before i sell it? Or is that not worth it either.

A mast for a motorized antenna costs about $40.

Don't know. Would have to know what kinda range you expect to sell it for. Sometimes it's useful to have one glaringly obvious, yet easy to fix defect. Keeps them from looking any harder, you let them talk you down because of it, they go away happy thinking they really worked you over, and you get what you wanted out of it. :grinyes: :p
