Clutch Cycling Switch

A/C has been converted to 134. Has new compressor, accumulator, condenser, O-rings. All lines cleaned out. Filled up with 8 ounces of oil. Vacuumed down and charged with 2 lbs of 134 Freon. When I use a jumper wire on the cycling switch the compressor runs, but when I plug the harness back into the cycling switch the compressor enganges and disengages. Currently have a R12 switch. Would changing to a 134 switch correct this problem?
