ok, im installing my guages tonight, but am running into a problem....i dont know which wire to tap into, to connect them. i know i want to hook them up to the headlight wire, but which one is that?
there are 3 coming off the headlight (i tried tracing it back) im assuming one is reg. beam, one is highbeam....so i dont wanna hook em up wrong so they only turn on when i have my highbeams on!
anyone know which wires i need to tap into?

(92 Civic CX)

Thanks

I actually connected mine to the parking lights. All I did was get a test light and turned on the parking lights (yea I work w/ my battery CONNECTED :finger: ) and checked which wire had power and just stripped it, and connected the power wire for the indiglos to that...ghetto I know, but looks nice :D Good luck w/ ur installation....I WISH I had a digicam to take pics right now for ya :o

I tapped into my parking accesory wire...its the easiest way...just run down to radio shack and pick up a pack of wire taps...the red clips.

Its easy. I used these instuctions and it took me maybe 45 mins to do the whole things.

ok, should these, or should these not light up with any power source and ground connected to them?
this is REALLY becoming a fucking hassle, and its pissing me off royally. can anyone provide a detailed description, im talking, talk to me like im a fuckin 2 year old, explain to me what the hell wires im supposed to jerk around with, and what exactly i need to to? im talking power, and ground. i noticed there are 3 wire connectors on the dimmer switch thing, and only 2 coming off of it... is it supposed to be this way?

If your indiglos came w/ its own dimmer...

That vtechnik link has pretty good instructions. Just follow that for the mechanical stuff. As for electrical, I'm pretty sure you can find the same red (w/ black stripe) going to your OEM gauges [harness]. That will be your power (+'ve) tap. Also, you can find a good ground (-'ve) somewhere back there. (In my case, I made a ground from a present bolt/screw of which my cluster screws onto. My screw goes through a some plastic and into bare metal.)

so there is no actual ground wire per se, i just have to screw it down to bare metal somewhere......hmm...this sounds like it should be a lot easier than im making it.

Yes there are only 2 wires coming out of it. the red and black wires (red=power, black=ground) Just look for a screw and and wrap it around it and screw it back into the car, and for the power cable look for a cable that is red and has a black stripe....its the only one thats there. Tap into it and bingo!

Why would u wanna connect ur grounds from the indiglo to another wire thats a ground for something else? Wont that fuck it up? What I just did I took the black wire that comes out of that little "box" thing and Grounded it on some metal piece begind the cluster. And the red wire just connected it to the wire that brings power to the guage cluster when the parking lights are switched on. Wish I had the digicam to take pics. Ive installed indiglos a couple of times (2 lol), so if you need anything, i dont my explanations are like 1st grade ones but hey, just pm me or something

well, im gonna go ahead and assume they are just broken, because ive tried them on several power/ground sources (which i tested w/ a multimeter, and verified it was a power source/ground source) and i dont get anything. the dimmer switch is getting voltage, but apparently the plugs arent, which leads me to believe there is a problem with the power inverter. i emailed him back to send a replacement.
