Its a 1988 88 royale?? Im not sure how much the same mine is from yours is but mines a 1990.
Its actually pretty easy. Just sounds hard.. Well, yeah its actually realitively hard compared to other cars IMO
You have to remove the silver middle dash (that surrounds the vents) from the screws that point up.. They are hex. Once you do that pull the rubber thing up from your steering wheel that is up aginst the silver section. It wont come out if you dont.
Then go to the bottom. There are some screws there and a single large bolt on the passanger side. Get thoes off.
Then get the screws from the top where the silver section was. Dont forget about the sides. The door covers 1 screw on each side i think..
Then open your glove conpartment. There are like 2 screws on the left side.
Then i think just pull it out. If it doesn't come out let me know and ill try to figure it out. It might not even be the same with an 88.. Who knows...

yea removing the radio is pretty simple because after circuit city screwed mine up i pulled it out to see how hard it was and all it was was 5 t10 screws and then 3 holding in the radio.

what year is it? I have instructions for a 95 olds. I got them free from crutchfield when I bought my radio. I was easy as pie to switch. The only problem I lost all my controls on my steering wheel.
Anyways I would be happy to scan them for you and email if you want it alao has instructions on how to remove the speakers and antenna.
Just let me know.

lol how did you manage to lose all controls on my steering wheel? and were you ever able to fix it? my climate control or a/c compressor shorted out due to circuit city putting in my radio.
