ashtray?

wheres the ashtray in an alero? i dont even see a lighter in it, my plug has a black cap on it rather than a lighter in it...

It may not have the typical ash tray on the dash, etc. On my Alero it is shaped like a cup with a lid and mounts in the forward part of the center console where there is a round hole before the shift lever. You can move it around (portable). The lighter and receptable is located right above in the bottom part of the dashboard below the HVAC controls. What model Alero do you have?

I don't smoke so its no big deal. I use it as a change holder instead.

I have the GX (base model i think) so it probably didnt come with a ashtray, i have only had the car for a few months, so unless someone who had it before decided to keep it??? beats me, where do you think i could order a ashtray for it? or maybe autozone might have one...i dunno..

You'll probably have to get it from a GM dealer unless you get lucky and find one at a salvage yard.

bnaylor3400- i use mine to hold my door opener, i use the other cup holder behind the shifter for $. I didnt think they came with one. You know what i saw the other day, i saw an olds alero with a sun roof. i never know they even came with one.hmmmmmm. Well, you could go to autozone and get an ash try and remove the rubber one in frount of the shifter. i dont smoke, does not bother me either. I do use my lighter for the radar dector.lollolol.

I bought a cup holder ashtray at the Dollar Store and put in front cup holder. I have a sunroof on my GLS. The dealership should have ashtray/lighter package but I haven't checked with them, probably pricey there.
