Hi Fieldmarshal,
I'm from Malaysia. When will you be coming here and where will you be staying? If you're going to be staying in Kuala Lumpur, then there's a few hobby shops here.
1) Toycity in Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC) (3rd floor I think)
- This shop sold Tamiya kits and some Fujimi kits. You might as well visit here as it is in the KLCC or known as the Petronas Twin Towers one of the most beautiful landmark of KL.
2) Phantom Customs in Kampung Baru (where I usually hang out)
- It's just a small hobby shop but here they sell mostly airplanes and military models. Only a few boxes of car models. My hang out every Saturday. :)
3) Hobby HQ in City Square Shopping Center (3rd floor I think)
- There's a lot of models here and if you're lucky they will still have a few rare car models (if you're lucky and if I didn't get them first  just kidding... This shop also carries a lot of planes and tank models but last I check they still have a lot of car models.
4) Miniature Models in Mid Valley (top floor)- Few car models and again a lot of tanks and airplanes.
5) Toycity in Mid Valley (top floor too beside the Miniature Models shop)
- You can find a lot of Tamiya products here from models to R/C.
6) Daisheng in Petaling Street (if I'm not mistaken, but somewhere around that vicinity)
-They previously are the distributor of Tamiya but I'm not sure nowadays. One of the members of this forum has been to this place a few years back (I can't remember) but I'm not sure if they are still selling models nowadays.
There's a few other shops around KL but shops in number 1 to number 3 is somewhat in the same area, just a few kilometers apart. In Mid Valley Mega Mall you can find the supermarkets Jusco and Metrojaya have a few Revell kits still available. There used to be a few other model shops in there but some have sclosed down and some have moved to other places.
You can also try and look for model shops in Times Square in Jalan Bukit Bintang, I've never been there but a friend of mine said that there are a few shops there that are selling models. If you happen to go to Times Square, then you should also go to Low Yat Plaza, there are one model shop in the second or third floor that sell models at a very reasonable price and also at Sungai Wang Plaza and BB Plaza (this building is side-by-side) has a couple of model shops.
There are other places like shopping malls that has a few models (common ones) like Sogo in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Active Lifestyle Mall at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman too (if I get the street name right) and a few Toys R' Us (but they only sell Gundams and Revell items).
I think this is quite a list that I have given to you. Maybe I left out some places but I think there will be some other Malaysians that can add to this list. :) I hope you will enjoy and have a good time when you visit Malaysia.
