got my first honda

well i have been posting on this forum for a couple weeks now and i thought i would introduce my self. i just traded my wrecked 96 geo tracker for a 1990 std hatchback. at the time i thought it was a good deal then 2 days later it stared smoking after 4500 rpm. i decided to change the oil and dump some lucas in there and i find the worst part. i think it is the differential cover but not sure (it is the cover on the bottom driver side of the tranny)well it is bent to shit and i can see a big fat gear. but who cares that just means that the zc is going in sooner. sorry for the long post and i have too say the tracker was fun but the hatch is a million times funner.

i think your talking about the tin cover that covers up the flywheel, i dont think thats the reason ur cars smoking? just bang it back into place.. its prolly smoking from all the fun ur having in it :icon16:

well, since people are sharing their 100 mph+ fun, i thought i'd just say i hit 180km/h (about 112mph) the other day. my car just has a short intake and a little axleback and i had my sub and amp and other crap in the hatch cuz i was getting some measurements done for the box that i hope to have done soon.

imo, 100+mph is pretty intense in a little ef. you fuck up and your reeeeeaaally fucked up.

well, since people are sharing their 100 mph+ fun, i thought i'd just say i hit 180km/h (about 112mph) the other day. my car just has a short intake and a little axleback and i had my sub and amp and other crap in the hatch cuz i was getting some measurements done for the box that i hope to have done soon.

I agree.. once had my crx to alittle over 115 and it felt fine.. in fact I wasn't even scared of wrecking just paranoid of cops.

i used to hit 100 in my tracker (for those you dont know what they are imagine a hatch jacked up 6 inches) i will try to get a picture of the hole. maybe monday

mmm done 140 in an 03 camry, that's fast enough for me :) my new 95 accord has gotten 120 on the highway, but i feel bad everything i drive it hard cuz its muh babeh :p

Shoot.. I hit 120 in my 1st Gen CRX the other day. Felt great, and was just getting into the power band of 5th gear... (5k RPMs)

WTF is the point in going that fast. What if you hit someone? Considering you are in a basically stock car, most likely it took you a while to get going that fast. What is the point of that? So you can tell your friends, "Hey man, i hit 112 in the hatch on the way home" WTF is wrong with people..... :loser:

edit: nevermind i see what this thread has become....Lets brag about how fast we have gone. If your going to do it, do it on the track or an abandon air stip or something!

i remember my 1st time hitting 120...was going to work in my NX2000 and decided to gun it...was doing 120mph coimg up to an on ramp...was nice...

hitting 100mph is like reaching some pennicle (sp) in a car...once you reach tripple figures, you know that's you can't go any fast where you are the one controling your speed. i sometimes did it on the highway, like I95 or I40 most of the time late at night when noone is on the on the highway late at night (best time to travel)

Hell i do about 160 on my bike!!!

But yes the cover for your flywheel seems to be gone that's all no biggie.

ive hit 115 and couldnt go faster... yeah there is no point especially since i blew my radiator once doin it.
