Before you put on a new air intake do your research. I feel I have done mine, I purchased the book Honda Horse Power. The most important thing about this book is that they did acual dyno testing and showed the rpm power line with the different mods they did. Very simply a Iceman Airbox with the K&N air filter worked the best. Nothering compared even slightly. Short RAM only had power at the bottom end. Cold Air only had power top end. Iceman had more power at the bottom and more power at the top. The power gain was throughout the entire rpm power line. I recommend nother else unless you want to mod your own airbox. Think about it. The closest cold air source is where the airbox already is. That is what the iceman uses. They also upgrade the filter and simply enlarge the openings on the airbox. However this does change the sound your engine makes so keep that in mind. Now as far as upgrades I recommend New ecu, and make it one the is programmable. The way with each mod you can reprogram it. Vtech have huge gains with new cams and cam gears, you will need to reprogram that ecu for that and do some tuning. However you can expect about 15-20 hp throught all of your rpm. Get some book on mods. They are 20-30 bucks but they actually show you what to expect, unil you see the entire rpm power reading you don't know what you are getting. Cold air may have a peak gain of 6hp, but that may only be form 6000-6200, the rest of the time there is only a 2hp gain except from 2000-4000rpm where you lose 2hp. Yes you will probably lose hp in the lower rpm because of how far the air has to travel. Remember iceman airbox, honda horsepower book. Your welcome my friend.
