E-bay Intake Pipe

Has anyone bought an intake pipe off of ebay? I just got mine today and it looks really short...maybe once I put it up against the old pipe it will look right. Also the hoses that came with it...you think i can paint those? Or should I just go and buy hoses the color i want?

You never know for sure with ebay...sometimes you can get shoddy products. A friend of mine got a CAI off ebay and it was missing an entire tube...so rather than getting down to the fender...it was placed behind the battery...POS

Anyway, I don't know about painting the hoses, I guess you could do it if you found the correct heat resistant paint...but I really don't know for sure.

Yea, the best way to know would be to just try and put it on and see. Taking the old intake piping off and stuff isn't hard so just try it out and see. Maybe you could post us a link to the actual auction you got it off or one like it?

yeah, that isn't a CAI, it is only the hard pipe replacement for your stock one. It maybe a bit larger in diameter, but I think it's primary feature is the 'bling' factor.

yeah, i think it is the same thing that musashi has, just a new pipe, not CAI. Musashi where did you get yours, 3sx? And is that what the Red MetalCast looks like after it fades? looking kinda orange compared to your wires.

Yea, definetly not a CAI. From teh pic it almost looks shorter than my intake pipe though (but it's hard to tell from pictures). That said, looks pretty much like mine I got from 3SX and I've had mine on a little less than a year and my blue hose clamp whatevers are still nice and blue :biggrin:
