Diagonal Brace Removal, 2000 GT

I want to paint my stock Diagonal Braces, instead of buying new ones (because I have only about $150 on the side for car things) and was wondering is there any danger in removing the braces, one at a time, painting it, then putting it back and doing the other. I would not move the car without the braces in place.

Also, how are they held on, I see the bolts and washers, but do they bolt onto the frame? Or am I doing to lose a nut somewhere?

If your talking about the two fender braces, you can remove them with socket, open end or box wrenches. Nothing falls off.
Leaveing them off while you paint them and put them back is OK.
If your going to move them from driveway to "barn". Then these no trouble. If your going to drive it to the parts store or something, I wouldn't.
Most of the cars on this site have had them off more then once. You have to remove them to add a cold air box, and other things.
Have fun. Make it look good. Add some pictures when your done.

Ok, thanks... I had a feeling all would be well, as long as I don't drive it. I mean, they probably wont be off for more than an hour each.

But I have not updated recently, I got the chrome speedgrilles, and Am painting that plastic piece that covers the top of the engine ( I am lacking with my technical terms) but have yet to finish that, so, when I do the braces, and finish the cover, I will update, and add a picture or two to my sig. If i can figure out how, haha.
